State agriculture officials on Thursday warned that wildfires are on the rise in Central Florida and asked the public to use extreme caution.Current weather conditions ? strong winds, low humidity and dried vegetation caused by freezes ? have caused a climate prime for wildfires.
Firefighters with Florida Forest Service's Orlando district have responded to 14 wildfires in the last week.The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services warned that the situation is going to get worse before it gets better.
The Florida Forest Service asked the public to take steps to prepare their home and property, which includes cleaning debris from the roof and gutters, and around the perimeter of homes.
