2.5 yr, 14h, $400. In April 2012 we assisted Shenandoah Valley Equine Rescue by taking Scotland and his friend, Tobias, into our care for rehabilitation. Scotland was friendly, but very cautious when he first arrived, was underweight (3 out of 9), and infested with parasites. He has now made a smooth recovery and his trust in humans has grown tremendously since first arriving. Scotland is good for leading, grooming, and we are working with him to stand quietly for the farrier. He will need someone with the time and experience with training young horses. Scotty gets along well with other horses and should make a great large pony/small horse for someone with the ability to bring him to his full potential. Days End Farm Horse Rescue does not sell horses. We do ask for an adoption donation to help defray the costs of rehabilitating future horses. We adopt to the entire State of Maryland and 100 miles from Days End Farm into the states of VA, DE, PA. We do not have the funds or manpower to do this properly in other areas. Save Our Seniors (SOS horses). Save an "unwanted" horse, spend time with an equine friend AND get a tax write-off - that's the benefit of our SOS program! The SOS campaign helps fund Days End horses that are limited in their riding capabilities. They may be blind, disabled, arthritic or have special medication or feeding requirements. These horses make wonderful companion animals, for other horses, farm animals, pets and people! You are required to take the horse to your own facility for ongoing care. SOS Assisted Living Program. You provide all necessary food, shelter, medications, medical care, hoof treatment, etc., at your facility. You submit a list of all expenses and receipts related to the care of the horse to Days End each month and you receive a donation letter for your tax-deductible expenses.
